岩田、他:超音波検査を用いた鼻骨整復南予医誌 Vol.19 No. 1 2019-35-Ultrasonic examination of nasal bone fracturesAbstract Nasal bone fracture is the most frequent type of facial fracture, being commonly encountered both in daily practice and in emergency outpatients. Nasal bone reduction is necessary if a major deviation is apparent, particularly if appearance or function is compromised (for example by nasal obstruction). In general, noninvasive reduction is subjective; the operator assesses each case visually and palpates. Recently, some reports have indicated that ultrasonic examination can objectively evaluate the improvements afforded by reduction surgery, and patient satisfaction. All 11 patients in this study who underwent manual reduction of nasal bone fractures guided by ultrasonic examination reported high-level satisfaction.(Nan-yo Med J 2019; 19: 28-35.)Keywords: Nasal bone fracture, ultrasonic examination, manual reductionShinji IWATA1), Hirofumi SEI2), Yuji HAYASHI1), Kunihide AOISHI1),Tadashi YOSHIDA1)1) Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Uwajima City Hospital Goten-machi, Uwajima, Ehime 798-8510, Japan2) Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Ehime University School of Medicine
