白井、他:死後の処置アンケート南予医誌 Vol.13 No. 1 2012-19-Abstract Postmortem care has become recognized as a part of “grief care” for the bereaved fam-ily. We surveyed 338 nurses from Uwajima City Hospital about postmortem care. Although the standing nursing order of our hospital states that a patient’s family may participate in postmortem care together with a nurse, only half of the nurses actually checked to see what the family wished to do. In addition, many families decide to perform postmortem care spontaneously. Our results indicate that nurses should take more interest in grief care.
